The Dance Connection Staff

 

Robin Arvanitis (Dance Manager) began dancing at the age of three.  She took locally until she was eight years old, and then continued training at Birmingham Southern College, Chicago City Ballet, Masi Ballet, Ruth Page, Ellis DuBoulay, and Lou Contes.  She was accepted at Joffrey Ballet of New York City in 1989, but she decided to begin a teaching career instead.  Robin had her own studio until the spring of 1998 when she joined the staff at Patti’s All-American.  Robin has staged eighteen recitals, three professional Nutcrackers, four musicals, dance engagements from 1998-2004 at Great America, and numerous parades.  Many of her students have gone on to dance at the University of Iowa, Butler, Northern Illinois, Barat College, and the Joffery Ballet of New York, and Chicago Ballet. Some of her students have performed in Showboat, the Arie Crown Nutcracker, and the Great America Review. Robin is certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR.  She also runs the Tri-Town Pop Warner Dance & Cheer which has won four National Dance Titles.  Robin resides in Schererville, with her husband, Tim, and their two children, Riley and Renn.

Lacey Pohlman (Dance Instructor) started taking dance lessons at the age of three and continued until she was in middle school.  She performed in numerous dance recitals.  She also performed with the Lake Central Centralettes Dance Team for two years then became a Lake Central Cheerleader for two years while in high school. Lacey is the assistant coach to the Lowell High School Dance Team.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Services and currently is the Early Childhood Teacher at Prairie State College. Lacey is certified with American Heart Association in First Aid and Adult, Child, and Infant CPR.  Lacey resides in Cedar Lake.  

 

Vashanna Kendrick (Gymnastics Instructor, Dance Instructor, and Special Events Instructor)  Also known as VeVe has joined our staff this year.  VeVe was a competitive gymnast for ten years.  She participated in three Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa; Orlando, Florida, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.  In 2002 she retired as a gymnast and became interested in dance.  She studied jazz, tap, and ballet at Emerson Visual Performing Arts in Gary, Indiana for four years.  VeVe also traveled across the Midwest while employed with Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) teaching young cheerleaders tumbling, dance, cheers, and stunts. 

Tori Studer (Dance Instructor) has joined our All-American staff this year. Tori has been a student here at All-American for eleven years and has participated in fourteen dance recitals.  She has performed and competed in numerous dance competitions. Tori is.certified with American Heart Association in First Aid and Adult, Child, and Infant CPR. She currently lives in Schererville with her parents, sisters Amber and Hannah, brother Colin and her dog named Tobee.

Emily Sandefur (Dance Helper) has joined our All-American staff this year.  Emily brings four years of gymnastics experience as well as seven years of dance lessons.  She has taken both gymnastics and dance classes right here at All-American.  She enjoys being with children and enjoys sharing her talent.  Emily lives in Dyer with her mom, dad and younger sister Meaghan.
