We pledge to uphold our
philosophy which is to teach gymnastics and dance in a fun, safe
environment, and raise your child’s self-esteem.
Our lesson plans and curriculum are guided by this
philosophy. In order for our staff to fulfill this pledge our staff attends
several different training clinics, which helps us to remain
current with the latest progressions, techniques, conditioning
drills,
and skills. The staff at All-American is specially trained
by Patti Komara. Staff members
are CPR and First Aid certified as well as USAG Safety
Certified. Most All-American staff have completed the USAG
Preschool FUNdamental course. The staff loves children and realizes that FUN has to play a
part in every lesson so the children will want to return.

USAG
National Congress is an annual 3-day conference held in a
different state each year. There are intense training
classes for instructors, gymnastics managers and business
owners. Instructors learn new warm-up ideas, new
skills required for the upcoming year, and fun games and activities.
Region V USAG Mini Congress
is an annual 2-day conference held either in Indiana, Illinois,
Kentucky, Michigan or Ohio, which make up our Region. The
conference sports national speakers with topics ranging
from warm-up ideas to advanced level gymnastics skills.
USAG Preschool FUNdamental
course consists of two parts, theory and hands on training.
This course is for preschool gymnastics instructors. It covers
young child development theory in the context of gymnastics
movement education. Course topics include teaching philosophy,
stages of child development, characteristics of a good teacher,
class management, safety considerations, skill deconstruction,
lesson planning, and program assessment. This course will help
instructors better understand their students and better prepare,
organize, and run safe and successful preschool classes. It
provides a foundation of knowledge for all preschool
educators. Instructors must pass the exam at 80% or
better. The second part of the Preschool Fundamental
course is a live, hands-on training. Topics include fundamental
movement for children, class safety overview, games, activities
to avoid, manipulative, lesson planning, inclusion of music,
thematic teaching, parent/child teaching, and the use of
apparatus. Instructors demonstrate practical examples of many of
the concepts taught in theory.
Patti's Preschool Gymnastics
Workshop is a one-day workshop to train preschool
instructors. Topics include
what makes a great teacher, class discipline,
cartwheel obstacle course,
best lesson plan themes, how
to start your class with great warm-up ideas,
preschool bars and beam, how
to market and recruit the right staff, how to teach
parent & tot classes, how
to spot and teach tumbling to preschool students, using
music and props in class, how to make stations, and various
games and activities for the parachute.
Fast Track Training
System is provided only here at Patti's All-American. Every
instructor must observe every type of class they will be
teaching then write a report. Instructors watch a series
of seven training DVD's (produced by Patti Komara) while taking notes which are later reviewed with Miss
Rachael. Then again they meet with Miss Rachael who explains our
progressions at each event for all levels. Our instructors
have a training session with Miss Rachael and Miss Nicole to learn
how to spot. Then while assisting other teachers out in
the gym for four to six weeks they are assessed on their
personal needs and trained further if needed. Once allowed
to teach by themselves, each instructor is then periodically
evaluated for optimal teaching. Our
teachers are First Aid and CPR certified within the first
year and encouraged to become USAG Safety Certified. If teaching preschool gymnastics,
they are also encouraged to
become certified in Preschool FUNdamental course by USAG.
